EEG (Electroencephalogram)
An EEG is a non-invasive test that measures electrical activity in the brain. It is used to diagnose conditions like epilepsy, sleep disorders, and other neurological issues by recording brain wave patterns through small electrodes placed on the scalp.
EMG (Electromyography)
EMG assesses the health of muscles and the nerve cells controlling them. It involves inserting a needle electrode into the muscle to record electrical activity, helping diagnose conditions like muscle disorders, nerve dysfunction, and diseases affecting the connection between nerves and muscles.
NCV (Nerve Conduction Velocity)
NCV tests measure the speed and strength of electrical signals traveling through nerves. Small electrodes are placed on the skin, and a mild electrical impulse is sent through the nerve. This test helps diagnose nerve damage or dysfunction, such as in carpal tunnel syndrome or peripheral neuropathy.
